ABOUT THE QUALITY OF ACOUSTIC MUSICAL SKILLS OF PRIMARY SCHOOL CHILDREN

Annotation

The article deals with musical sensory skills of primary school children as specific units of their sensory sphere. The author offers criteria-based model for measuring quality of musical skills and describes some tasks for their diagnostics. The article also covers the way children distinguish music sounds in terms of pitch, duration, loudness, timbre and understanding classification relations in the system of musical sound standards as well as children’s ability to reproduce pitch-related and rhythmic properties of a melody. Levels of acoustical musical skills of primary school pupils gained in the author’s pedagogical experience are revealed.
