POTENTIAL FOSTER PARENTS AS SUBJECTS OF FAMILY RELATIONS

Annotation

The article deals with the issues of readiness of potential foster parents for their roles in upbringing. The author gives an account of the available research experience in this area and distinguishes actual criteria of readiness to foster parenting. Based on the specified allocated criteria, personal and family resources of potential foster parents are considered. The author also describes practical experience of rendering support to foster families at evaluation stage of psychological readiness for taking a child into the family. Social and psychological portrait of potential parents based on the available experience is described. The author carries out qualitative analysis of the parameters which reflect features of family relations.
