ROLE OF STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS IN PREVENTION OF ETHNIC CONFLICTS IN MULTI-ETHNIC REGIONS

Annotation

The article deals with the need of reasonable participation of student organizations in the process of reducing tension and preventing ethnic conflicts in the region characterized by different ethno-cultural heterogeneity. Basing on the analysis of the main characteristics of student self-government, the author seeks to develop socio-cultural approach to the role of student organizations in an ethno-cultural mosaic. The main attention is given to consideration of models leading to prevention of inter-ethnic conflict relations among students of higher school; interpretation of functional significance in student communities, and in this context, the author proves necessity to support young student groups by higher school authorities.
