APPLICATION OF METHODS OF NONPARAMETRIC STATISTICS IN PSYCHOLOGICAL RESEARCHES: CASE-STUDY INTO SELF-ATTITUDE OF STUDENTS WHO GO IN FOR SPORTS PROFESSIONALLY AND AT AMATEUR LEVEL

Annotation

The paper discusses possible opportunities of using methods of statistical processing of empirical data exemplified by the case-study into self-attitude of students who are engaged and not engaged in sports. The author describe research procedure which enables to find the difference of self-attitude, adaptation, gender identity and images “ideal self” and “real self” in focus groups of students. 202 students, both male and female, from Humanitarian College took part in the case-stud. Research methods include: Brown-Forsyte’s criterion (the variant of criterion by Liven); nonparametric criterion by Kruskal–Wallis, Conover post hoc test, Mann–Whitney U-test, Masculinity-Feminity Test by Bem, inventory for research of self-attitude by S.R.
