PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION AS A FACTOR OF SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF THE REGION
Annotation
The article describes major ways of developmingthe educational system of the Leningrad Region, which is integrated into the national system. The author analyses the processes that affect the qualitative change in society during its transformation into the informational society and the role of education in the changing world. Particular attention is paid to the economy of education: the interaction of economic agents, businesses, public authorities and municipal government with educational agencies. Creating a system of continuous education in the Leningrad Region and mechanisms ensuring continuity and interaction of different segments of the system is one of the regional priorities. The article focuses on the social responsibility of the business, because it is education which ultimately determines the employment status of a citizen.Key words
