EMOTIONAL INTELLECT AS A PREDICTOR OF EDUCATIONAL SUCCESS OF MATHEMATICALLY TALENTED HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
Annotation
The article presents empiric research of the problem of emotional intellect as a predictor of educational success of mathematically talented young people. The author analyses the literature devoted to the influence of different factors on the educational success. The components of the psychological factor influencing the success are revealed. Intellect, creativity, personal characteristics and emotional intellect are regarded as psychological factors determining the success. The fact that emotional intellect is considered to be a predictor of educational success is explained by not a very clear interconnection of other psychological determinants and educational success. Intellect, creativity and personal characteristics cannot fully determine strong performance, that’s why the author supposes the existence of other predictors of success. The author presents his own vision of the construction of emotional intellect and describes the methods of this phenomenon diagnostics. ThKey words
