ANDRAGOGY AS KEY NOTION OF ANDRAGOGICAL APPROACH
Annotation
The aim of the article is to summarise the results of the research on the development of “andragogy” concept in the modern science. The objectives are to study the etymology of the term “andragogy” in English scientific literature, monitor the development of the notion “andragogy” and its present state, and determine the status of andragogy in the modern science. As a result the author has established etymological connection of andragogy with adult education, studied Knowles’ concept of andragogy, reviewed his ideas and analysed the status of andragogy. The author comes to the conclusion that andragogy today is a branch of pedagogy studying the regularities of adults’ teaching, learning and educating.Key words
