TEACHERS OF THE BELARUSIAN GUBERNIES IN GOVERNMENTAL EDUCATIONAL POLICY (1860 TILL THE BEGINNING OF THE XX CENTURY)

Annotation
The specific character of the government educational policy on the territory of Belorussia in the period from 1860 till the beginning of the XX century carried out by teachers, enlighteners and priesthood is analyzed in the article. The reasons and consequences of the main governmental principal towards education in Belorussia (the non-admission of the Belarusians to be top-ranking officials) are revealed by the author. The analysis of the national composition of teachers is given to explain the characteristic of their social position, national ideals and values. The author concludes that political aims were primary for the government policy towards the Belarusian public education.Key words
