TEACHING SPEAKING AS PART OF THE COURSE “ENGLISH FOR SPECIFIC PURPOSES” WITH THE USE OF BLENDED LEARNING TECHNOLOGY

Annotation

The article deals with key features of teaching oral monologic and dialogical speech as part of the course “English for specific purposes” (ESP) for technical engineering institute students who use blended learning technology. Due to increased amount of students’ independent work, defined by Educational Standards of the Russian Federation, creating a complex of exercises for developing speaking component of professionally focused communicative competence gains special importance. This complex is supposed to include preparatory and communicative exercises and have a special block “Speaking Guide” that includes the system of practical tips and comments on doing speaking tasks. Training complex of such kind allows students to form and develop their skills of oral speech most effectively in terms of ESP.
